coffee. pastry. quiet.

A small café on Roncesvalles. Coffee and matcha, a case of scones, financiers and empanadas, and a window seat on the streetcar line. Open every day from 7:30.

The long room: wooden tables and benches down one side, a chalkboard over the counter, and the shelves stacked with jars and beans

The room

Pale wood down one wall, a long shared table under a row of rattan pendants, and big windows that take the afternoon light. The chairs are mismatched on purpose, and the shelves behind the counter are stacked with jars, tins and bags of beans.

The window is the best seat. It looks straight out onto Roncesvalles, with the streetcar going by every few minutes. It's a small room, and a quiet one. People come here to slow down for a bit.

The bright room: white bentwood chairs, rattan pendant lamps in a row, potted plants, and the tall windows onto the street
